New leadership team announced for the ANF

The Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) Federal Executive at their meeting in Canberra today accepted with regret the resignation of the Federal Secretary, Jill Iliffe. Jill has been the Federal Secretary of the ANF for the past nine years. In that time there has been a 39.5% increase in membership and an enhanced national profile and influence for the ANF.

The ANF Federal Executive appointed the current Assistant Federal Secretary Gerardine (Ged) Kearney as the new Federal Secretary and the current South Australian Branch Secretary Lee Thomas as the new Assistant Federal Secretary. The Executive recognised the significant contribution Jill has made to the ANF, to nursing and to the union movement. Jill will leave the ANF on 1 April 2008 when the new leadership team will take office.
