Nurses lodge first class action under Fair Work Act to protect aged care nurses
The Australian Nursing Federation (ANF), NSW Nurses’ Association (NSWNA) and the Queensland Nurses’ Union (QNU) have applied to Fair Work Australia for the first class action take home pay orders to protect the wages of aged care nurses in Queensland and NSW. | View media release

National Employment Standards
As of 1 January 2010, the National Employment Standards (NES) replace the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard. Together with modern awards (also from 1 January 2010), the NES make up a new safety net for employees covered by the national workplace relations system.
