ANF/CN-ASTV Subsmission to Review of Veterans' Entitlements 2002 The Australian Nursing Federation and Civilian Nurses, Australian Surgical Teams Vietnam Group, have made a submission to the current independent review of Veterans' entitlements chaired by the Hon Justice John Clarke QC. The submission is part of our continuing campaign on behalf of SEATO nurses for the right to claim benefits under the Veterans' Entitlements Act following the refusal of the Howard Government to implement the recommendation by the Mohr Review, February 2000, that Civilian Surgical and Medical Teams be deemed as performing qualifying service. It argues that SEATO team members have the right to claim benefits under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 and that a mechanism must be established to enable team members to access that entitlement.
